Elevate Debate is a place to ask a question, hear the best case for each answer, and change your mind if the arguments are good enough. This short guide covers the basics so you can join in on day one.

Start or join a debate

Every debate begins with a single question. Pick one that interests you and add your answer: Yes or No, with your reasons. If someone else has already made your point, build on it instead of repeating it.

Use rebuttals

A rebuttal is a reply to a specific argument. It is the heart of the platform, because it forces both sides to deal with the strongest version of the other side.

Vote, follow and write

• Vote arguments up or down to help the best reasoning rise.
• Follow members whose debates you enjoy, and check your Feed for what they are doing.
• Write a blog post when you have more to say than a debate thread allows.
